" I had the best experience at Hanlees Hyundai.
My boyfriend and I went in together to shop for a new car (for me, of course). He purchased a Hyundai Elantra a year ago over in Dublin and needed to get the 7,500 mile service so two birds, one stone.
The service manager, Chris, was so friendly. He even gave us the online coupon for $10 dollars off. Since we were willing to pay the original price regardless, it was a very nice bonus. He updated us throughout the duration of the service and never made us feel impatient or left in the dark. He even recommended a sales person for me.
I can't even describe how amazing Kenny (sales) was. He made me feel so at home. I feel like sales people usually look down on young people because they feel like we're not serious consumers but this was not the case at all here. Kenny treated us like REAL people. He gave recommendations and did not push us to purchase immediately. Ultimately, when I did decide to buy, he was with us every step of the way. When you're about to spend this much money (even if it's a more affordable car), the most important thing is to feel comfortable with your purchase (buyers regret, anyone?)
I highly recommend him (and I am one of the most critical people ever). I'm like an asian female Simon Cowell.
Okay, so you get the point, the shopping experience was great. Now, what about the actual purchase/financing experience? Money is a big issue for me since I'm a graduate student. Kenny and I had agreed on a price but Gil from financing had bad news. Hyundai financing did not allow my "recent graduate" discount so the car would be $400 more expensive than I expected. I was REALLY upset by this... since we had already agreed on a price... and while $400 is not proportionally a large amount given the price of the car, I felt a bit scammed. After I had gone through the process of negotiating a price, buying insurance, and etc... they are changing the price??? While it's not directly the dealership's fault, I felt like they should at least eat the cost of this error since they ASSUMED and ASSURED me that the discount would go through. They couldn't do this though since I was already getting a great deal on the car and being Sunday night, the top dog manager dude had already left. Sigh.
So why the 5 stars? Because even though I was going through this [mini] criss, Kenny tried everything to help mitigate the extra cost for me... including giving me free detailing and services. I eventually agreed to the deal, although not as happily as previously.
BUTTTTTTTTT... here's the best part. Three days later, I get a phone call from Gil (from financing) telling me that he finally got my discount to go through and that he made a new contract for me with a MUCH lower (unheard of) financing APR and the $400 rebate. WHAT!!! They had ALREADY sold me the car... there was no reason for him to keep going through the trouble of doing this... but he did. That is truly fantastic customer service. I went in that day and he had the new contract ready.
Sorry this was super long... but I think car buying is a difficult experience and it's important to have people you trust on your side. "
