Have to give credit where credit is due. I'm not overly fond of car dealership service departments, I tend to think of them as expensive, mired in paperwork, and not particularly accommodating.
But today, I have to say, I'm very grateful to Hanlees Toyota in Davis. My "check engine" light came on, during a particularly stressful day, and while I'm contemplating a long car trip. And late on a Saturday afternoon.
So, hoping that they'd even be open, I headed to this dealership. I was immediately met by a representative, Rick I think his name is, who approached me with a very friendly "can do" attitude, assured me they'd have it checked out within 15-20 minutes, and in less time than that, he was back to me, having gotten the solution, it was merely a disconnected hose, pushed back into place, end of problem, and no charge to me.
I would have been happy to pay a reasonable fee, but more importantly, I was immediately accommodated and the problem solved. I was expecting to be told I could make an appointment for later in the week, and that I'd have to live with the worry about my engine's condition for days.
Thanks guys, much appreciated, this speaks well for the whole dealership.
